The team continued implementing augmented reality in kidney surgery—an advancement in image-guided, robotic-assisted surgery—led by the Urology Department of Bordeaux University Hospital Centre / University of Bordeaux. – Prof. Jean-Christophe BERNHARD and Dr. Gaëlle Margue.

I.CaRe Bordeaux and Intuitive: the Da Vinci SP at the Robotic Training Center Bordeaux On March 31 and April 1, the Robotic Training Center Bordeaux will host the Da Vinci Single Port —the first single-port robot developed by Intuitive.
This exceptional technology, recently introduced in Europe, represents a significant milestone in the evolution of minimally invasive surgery.

As part of the I.CaRe programme and the Robotic Training Center, we were delighted to welcome Pierre-Jean Bensoussan from InSimo to the Bordeaux University Hospital Centre / University of Bordeaux to test ROBOTiS, a high-fidelity training tool designed for learning and training in robotic suturing.

Two days of intensive real-world testing were held to advance image-guided, augmented reality and robot-assisted kidney surgery, led by the Department of Urology at Bordeaux University Hospital Centre, with Prof. Jean-Christophe Bernhard and Dr Gaëlle Margue.

In an interview with the French Hospital Federation – Oncology (FHF Cancer), Prof. Jean-Christophe Bernhard shared recent progress in the fight to control kidney cancer.

Dr Gaëlle Margue has been elected Vice President of the AFUF. Passionate about research—particularly in kidney cancer—and deeply committed to resident training, she has stood out through her active involvement in the European urological community. As a European representative, she revitalised engagement with the EUREP programme and helped reinforce the French presence at EAU congresses.

Professor Jean-Christophe Bernhard has been honoured with the prestigious René Küss Innovation Prize. This distinction recognises a urologist who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the field through leadership in clinical development and education.
