We are proud to announce that during the EAU 2026 Congress, Dr Gaëlle Margue received the “Best Abstract presented at EAU26 by YAU” (Young Academic Urologists) award for her work
🔬 “Three-Dimensional Image-Guided Robot-Assisted Partial Nephrectomy for Tumors in Horseshoe Kidneys: A European Multicentre Case Series (YAU RCC – #UroCCR)”
This European multicentre study shows that personalized 3D surgical planning helps optimize vascular control and facilitates nephron-sparing surgery in highly complex anatomical cases. The results demonstrate the feasibility and safety of the technique, with good preservation of renal function and encouraging oncological outcomes.
In addition, a second abstract by Dr Gaëlle Margue was selected for the Best of EAU, which highlights significant and impactful research presented during the congress:
🔬 “Development of Biomimetic 3D-Printed Models for RAPN Training”
This work focuses on the development of 3D-printed kidney models that replicate the mechanical properties of human tissue using innovative biomimetic materials. These models provide a realistic and ethical alternative to animal models for improving training in robotic surgery.
