R&D and Innovation within the RHU Digital Urology 3D Project at Bordeaux University Hospital with I.CaRe Bordeaux and SURGAR – 28/05/25

A new R&D and innovation session took place as part of the RHU Digital Urology 3D project at Bordeaux University Hospital Centre, in collaboration with I.CaRe Bordeaux and SURGAR.

The team continued implementing augmented reality in kidney surgery—an advancement in image-guided, robotic-assisted surgery—led by the Urology Department of Bordeaux University Hospital Centre / University of Bordeaux. – Prof. Jean-Christophe Bernhard and Dr. Gaëlle Margue.

These sessions enabled the validation of new features in the augmented reality software co-developed with SURGAR, a pioneering French start-up in the field. The software provides real-time 3D visualisation, automatically synchronised with the patient’s kidney, with the goal of enhancing the precision and safety of surgical procedures.

Each session brings us closer to our goal: to enhance kidney surgery through the power of 3D and immersive technologies.

👏 A heartfelt thank you to all the teams involved in this incredible innovation effort, and to our research partners for their trust and expertise.
