The Department of Urology at Bordeaux University Hospital co-organised the 21st Congress of Robotic Urology Surgery (ERUS 2024), held under the auspices of the European Association of Urology. The event took place in Bordeaux from 11 to 13 September 2024 and gathered over 1,000 participants from around the world.
A major highlight of the congress was the world’s first live robotic radical nephrectomy with virtual and augmented reality-assisted venous thrombectomy. This ground-breaking surgery, performed by Prof. Jean-Christophe Bernhard, represents the culmination of extensive research and development carried out as part of the RHU Digital Urology 3D programme.
Our sincere thanks go to our partners—SurgAR and Fujifilm Healthcare Europe—and to the entire team at the Bordeaux University Hospital Urology Department for making this achievement possible
