Yesterday, the I.CaRe Bordeaux team was delighted to welcome Philippe Nauche, Vice-President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region in charge of Health and the Silver Economy, accompanied by Erika Jouhet, Head of Health and Silver Economy for the Region, Vincent-Nicolas DELPECH, Managing Director of Bordeaux University Hospital Centre, Nicolas Tachon, Director of Bordeaux University Hospital Centre, and Franck Raynal, Director of the Surgery Department.
Exploring the cutting edge of medicine: we went from the 3D-IGRAPN operating theatre—where Prof. Jean-Christophe Bernhard and Dr Gaëlle Margue lead the way in image-guided robotic kidney cancer surgery—to a first look at the hospital’s brand-new facilities. It was a powerful display of the innovation and expertise driving our teams in Bordeaux.
Professor Jean-Christophe Bernhard then presented the I.CaRe Bordeaux programme, which brings together academic and industrial excellence projects focused on kidney cancer, with:
UroCCR – French National Research Network on Kidney Cancer: National multidisciplinary kidney cancer research network and prospective data collection and tool enabling prospective collection of real-world data.
RHU Digital Urology 3D: University Hospital Research Project on the use of new digital and 3D technologies to improve the care of patients with kidney cancer.
UroConnect: a remote monitoring medical device for perioperative monitoring of patients undergoing urological cancer surgery (Resilience Care).
UroPredict: An artificial intelligence tool that generate and deploy algorithms for individual prediction of kidney tumour progression on a national scale.
BRIC-BoRdeaux Institute of onCology (BRIC-U1312) kidney cancer emerging team.
And the Robotic Training Center (RTCB): Training, simulation and R&D platform for robotic surgery (University of Bordeaux).
The morning concluded with a visit to the Institut des Métiers de la Santé at Bordeaux University Hospital Centre, a centre for training, innovation and knowledge transfer serving healthcare professionals.
This is a wonderful recognition for all the teams involved in research, innovation and the care of patients with kidney cancer.
