Professor Jean-Christophe BERNHARD was pleased to participate in the Decision-Makers’ Forum organized by Intuitive, where he spoke on the theme: “Innovation and Technologies for Patient Care at Bordeaux University Hospital”.

On this occasion, he presented the initiatives of the I.CaRe Bordeaux program, dedicated to innovation for patient care in kidney cancer treatment:
🔹 Image-guided surgery, virtual reality, and augmented reality: technologies that improve the precision of surgical procedures, preoperative planning, and team training through immersive visualizations.
🔹 UroConnect: the remote monitoring application that enables postoperative follow-up of patients undergoing urological oncological surgery and coordination of care pathways.
🔹 UroPredict: an artificial intelligence tool based on real-world data for predicting kidney cancer recurrence and adapting therapeutic strategies for each patient.
🔹 3D printing for biomimetic models: the creation of personalized anatomical models to better prepare interventions and improve understanding of complex situations.
🔹 Self-assessment through the use of real-world data (UroCCR – National network on Kidney Cancer): a continuous analysis approach of practices based on patient data to evaluate and improve the quality of care.
🔹 Extension of indications for minimally invasive surgery (notably robot-assisted caval thrombectomy): the development of advanced techniques allowing increasingly complex cases to be treated with less invasive approaches.

These advancements demonstrate our commitment to integrating cutting-edge technologies into care pathways, to improve the quality, precision, and personalization of treatments.
