As part of the I.CaRe Bordeaux program, more than 200 patients with kidney cancer have undergone robot-assisted partial nephrectomy on an outpatient basis at the Bordeaux University Hospital.
A symbolic milestone, but above all, a profound change in care!
Nearly 10 years ago, in 2016, Professor Jean-Christophe BERNHARD achieved a world first by performing the very first robot-assisted partial nephrectomy on an outpatient basis.
Behind this symbolic figure lies a greater ambition: to completely rethink the care pathway for patients with kidney cancer.

This initiative is led by Professor Jean-Christophe BERNHARD and Dr. Gaëlle Margue, who have been working for several years to develop and structure these approaches, which combine robotics, outpatient care, clinical research, and digital health.
