On February 26 and 27, 2026, Professor Jean-Christophe BERNHARD, urological surgeon at Bordeaux University Hospital and founder of the I.CaRe Bordeaux program, will speak in Ghent at the ORSI INNOTECH – Surgical AI & Telesurgery Days 2026 event.
1️⃣ During the session untitled ‘Beyond the operating room: AI after surgery’, he presented UroPredict, our artificial intelligence tool dedicated to personalised prediction, through machine learning, of the risk of recurrence and prognosis of kidney cancer.
UroPredict is the result of a collaboration between the UroCCR national network (the French national network on kidney cancer), the Oncology Committee of the French Association of Urology (AFU), and SOPHiA GENETICS.
Using the UroCCR national database, this partnership enabled the development and validation of AI algorithms for prognostic stratification.
2️⃣ Professor Bernhard also moderated a live robot-assisted partial nephrectomy, illustrating the integration of technological innovation and surgical expertise.
This contribution reflects the ambition of I.CaRe Bordeaux: to build a bridge between AI, clinical data, and robotic surgery to promote more precise and personalized medicine.
